Construction surveyors used 3D laser scanning at the World Trade Center (WTC) Ground Zero site shortly after reconstruction began on a project to reestablish a subway station that was under the WTC before the towers collapsed. Laser scanning allowed surveyors to complete the job in less time and with the same accuracy as found with conventional surveying technology.
